Company Information:

In March 2015 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and KBR announced an agreement to establish a new engineering and support Services Company in Azerbaijan. The legal entity name of the new company is SOCAR-KBR LLC and provides design, engineering, technical, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, in the Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey (AGT) region. The key objective of this strong partnership is to create a world class Azerbaijan-based EPCM services company that will utilize the strengths of both organizations and deliver top quality results by utilizing, developing and promoting Azerbaijani national content. The company has a long-term commitment from both organizations.

Position Title: Project Accountant

Work Location: Baku

Role synopsis:

- Accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, ensuring proper and timely billing to the client and monitoring project cash flow.

Key accountabilities:

• Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
• Review Call-offs / Amendments / POs;
• Liaise with BP on PO values and splits;
• Liaise with Project Controls Team;
• Review time sheets for work related to a project;
• Review of costs and agree to ledgers;
• Prepare invoices to BP and post Client invoices in BP’s Ariba system;
• Maintain invoice register and estimated collections file;
• Liaise with BP and actively chase payment of invoices;
• Maintain Baku reconciliation of Travel Authorisation Forms to Expenses;
• Audit Baku project staff expenses and maintain Expense log for Baku personnel;
• Obtain backup for any third-party Baku client costs ready for billing to client (e.g. lunches, courier, consumables, Office space, cars);
• Prepare any unbilled / accrual entries at month end;
• Monthly revenue recognition calculations;
• Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers;
• Assist with the requests of internal and external auditors;
• Prepare project related ad hoc reports as and when required;

NamİZƏDƏ TƏLƏBLƏR

Essential education, experience and job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or any other related field;
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in the oil & gas environment;
• A thorough knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lumps sum, not-to-exceed and how they are applied in the billing process;
• Experience working as AR accountant on BP projects and knowledge of BP Ariba system is an advantage;
• Fluent English and Azerbaijani, knowledge of Russian is desirable;
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is an advantage;
• Experience with SAP or other accounting software is a strong advantage;
• Good skills to Intermediate level in Microsoft products;
• High degree of diligence and attention to details;
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
• Strong personal skills capable of forming relationships with both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders both internally and externally
